Hymn for a Ghost

from Memories I by Bellwethr

lyrics

Your fingers run through my hair like spiders,
As we lay spread across the meadow.
Grass tickles my skin as the sun turns to gold,
Drenching the hills and trees in soft twilight.
The wind blows through the trees above,
As the crickets and frogs sing their songs.
The clouds disperse at the horizon,
Catching the light in a red inferno.

Our bodies intertwine in the clearing,
And as the stars begin to show themselves,
We kiss and hold each other close,
Until the moon rises to greet us.
The chill of night creeps over,
As the Earth falls into a deep, quiet sleep.

Bats chirp and escape the trees,
Disguised by our soft laughter.
The moon graces you in blue twilight,
And nothing has ever been this beautiful before.

Nothing has ever been this beautiful before.
